چکیده

The Mekong River in Asia is one of the world's longest rivers. Although it has some highest levels biodiversity and productivity Asia, water quality basin recently deteriorated as a consequence land use changes, dam reservoir construction, population growth, climate change. For first time, this study estimates interannual monthly variabilities nutrient fluxes (nitrate - NO3−) total phosphorus TP) lower Tonle Sap Cambodia, assesses linkage between them. Long-term monitoring data were obtained from Kratie station (in upper reach River), Chroy Changva (just upstream River–Tonle confluence), Prek Kdam (on ~40 km confluence 70 downstream Lake). From 1995 to 2017, estimated flux NO3− was 364 ± 45 kt/y at 557 109 Changva. 2005 TP 100 16 73 19 Considerable seasonal differences observed both River, with 80–90% annual occurring May October. results exchange budget indicated that into Lake ~ 35.8 12.5 8.7 3.3 kt/y, respectively, while these 34.0 13.8 6.6 1.4 system. demonstrate vital source, especially during flood season, its floodplain.

Water-Energy-Food Nexus in a Transboundary River Basin: The Case of Tonle Sap Lake, Mekong River Basin

The water-energy-food nexus is promoted as a new approach for research and policy-making. But what does the nexus mean in practice and what kinds of benefits does it bring? In this article we share our experiences with using a nexus approach in Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake area. We conclude that water, energy and food security are very closely linked, both in the Tonle Sap and in the transboundary...

BayFish – Tonle Sap: A Bayesian Model of The Fish Production In The Tonle Sap Great Lake, Cambodia

Probabilistic Bayesian networks have been used as decision making tools mainly in medicine and economics, but recently they have also been utilized in natural resource management. In this study a Bayesian model is built as a decisionmaking tool for fisheries management in the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia. As the largest freshwater fishery in the world, the Tonle Sap has enormous importance to bot...

Freshwater bryozoa of Tonle Sap, Cambodia.

We identified a collection of freshwater bryozoans from Tonle Sap (meaning Tonle Lake), Cambodia, a body of water fed by the Mekong River and characterized by extreme fluctuations in water level between the wet and dry seasons. The collection also included specimens from the moat of Angkor Wat, located at the north end of the lake. We found four phylactolaemate species (Plumatella bombayensis, ...
